Equity Institute

Equity Institute was founded in 2024 by our CEO and lead Human Relations Strategist, Mynesha Spencer, in partnership with the Weitz Family Foundation. It is a comprehensive year-long program designed to foster understanding, discussion and actionable strategies for promoting equity in organizations and the communities they serve. The Institute meets once a month for 12 months, providing a consistent space for learning, reflection, and collaborative problem-solving. Participants are equipped with the knowledge, skills, resources and tools needed to lead by creating and advocating for equity practices within their spheres of influence.

Our pilot cohort graduated on April 24, 2026 and our second will commence in June 2026. Applications for Cohort III will become available February 2027.

Equity Institute helps professionals:

  • Deepen Understanding of Equity: Professionals explore the core concepts of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), examining their historical, social, and institutional implications.

  • Cultivate Empathy and Cultural Competence: The Institute aims to build professionals' ability to engage with and understand diverse perspectives, fostering empathy and cultural humility.

  • Equip with Practical Tools: Professionals learn actionable strategies and frameworks for implementing equity initiatives in their workplaces or communities.

  • Foster Collaborative Leadership: The program encourages leadership development, empowering professionals to champion equity work in their organizations and advocate for systemic change alongside other leaders in the community.

  • Network and Build Community: Monthly meetings allow participants to network with peers and experts, creating a support system for continued growth in equity work.

  • Skill Application: Professionals have dedicated time after classroom instruction to practice skill application for equity implementation and management. This uninterrupted time for execution ensures participants matriculate through a results-driven professional development program.
